Tkaronto Continues to Get Around ...
What a roll it's been! Tkaronto has screened at film festivals around the world, on Air Canada, in arthouse theatres across Canada, among many other special presentations at Universities and Community gatherings. Now it sets to start its run on Canadian TV along with some other showings on the silver screen. We thank everyone for making this all possible, most notably our distributor KINOSMITH FILMS and our co-presentor imagineNATIVE FILM FESTIVAL.

2. Toronto City Hall - 175th Anniversary Celebration
As part of the 175th Anniversary of the City of Toronto, there is a day a celebration, art, music, and film screenings taking place at City Hall. Tkaronto has been chosen to take part and will have a special screening and discussion with writer-director Shane Belcourt.

3. Super Channel TV Premiere (Canada)
As part of our on-going tour of Tkaronto here in Canada, which has seen it move from festival to festival, to arthouse cinemas across the country, it comes to rest for 18 months on Canada's HD network, Super Channel. TKaronto will play 11 times in March alone, with it's permiere March 12th at 8:00 PM.

4. the Native American Film + Video Festival - New York City
Organized by the Film and Video Center of the National Museum of the American Indian (NMAI), the Native American Film + Video Festival celebrates the creative energy of Native American directors, producers, writers, actors, musicians, cultural activists, and all the others who support their endeavors.

- Shane wins Best Director Awards! "Tkaronto" won best director at the 2008 Dreamspeakers Film Festival AND the Talking Stick Film Festival (where Melanie McLaren won for Best Actress for her role as "Jolene")

- The priddle concern EPK:
A friend and filmmaker here in Toronto, Paul Cuthbert, was hired to shoot an EPK for recording artist Bill Priddle's new band, the priddle concern. He had a box full of footage shot and needed someone to edit it and colourize the footage. So, after a couple days Jordan and Shane rendered this out which pleased Paul, Bill, and Sparks Music.

- Shane and Duane are working on a new feature film script about ... well, we'll keep it close to our chests until we get a draft registered. Stay tuned ...

- you can still DOWNLOAD Jordan O'Connor's solo bass record for FREE here

- Shane will be creating a short film with David Hannan in the coming months. For now we can tell you it involves a life-size bear and deer that David is making with mechanical parts. Sounds loopy? We think it's going to be an emotional drama end of day.

- Shane & Jordan have begun pre-production on a short documentary entitled "Red Car, Blue Hood" which is an investigation of what made Shane's dad Tony the man he was in 1979 when he tried to outrun police in New Brunswick because his licence was already suspended.

- Shane has returned from a big trip to the promised land, Los Angeles, California. He's blogged a report from the film festival and entire experience at his blog site, www.dearclaire.com.
