Pookums Strikes Back!
Pookums screened in Winnipeg, Manitoba Great news, imagineNATIVE Film Festival chose Pookums as one of the "best of" for 2006, and as such we were screened along with some other great works in Winnipeg, MB. "Pookums" and "The Squeeze Box" have been selected to be a part of the 4th Annual Weeneebeg Aboriginal Film & Video Festival, held in Moose Factory, Ontario. We're Pretty Excited About This Thing We've placed the order for the new Panasonic HVX-200 HD Camcorder. It'll be here in a couple weeks. What's the big deal? Well, it makes some sweet pictures and it'll infuse some more gusto into our indie filmmaking passions here. To be honest, we're really running out of excuses now to not be making films all the time. When this camera comes in we'll be shooting another round of pass the ball, get the ball rolling ... So you'll get to see some images then - middle of June. The Squeeze Box This short film is about a hitman that hires an accordion player to be his real-life soundtrack. It was written and directed by Shane Belcourt and Duane Murray. It premiered at the 2005 ImagiNATIVE Film Festival. Right now we're still trying to get it into a few more festivals - as such we can't show you the whole thing just yet, but we have the trailer. Pass the Ball The idea was to create an opportunity for filmmakers to jam out a short film together - just go-go-go with the camera working together without any constraints. If musicians can get together and jam, why not filmmakers? Round One was completed in the Spring of 2006. Round Two will be in production in the summer of 2006.Watch the segments from Round One >>>
